How come that the education systems of the world cries for reforms of the system, that venture capitals predict the next (current) big investment wave in education but as soon as they hear education market they shy away. We went a very carefully planned approach to creating an app which was actually designed by pedagogues and psychologist in terms of how do people actually learn, what is the learning process. We prototyped the software and put it three years to the test in German schools. We know it works from the response of the teachers and students and the fact that they still don’t want to let go the prototype, boxy and buggy as it is, not at all well connected, but it simply works from a pedagogical standpoint.
Now translating learn methods into software tools is surely a long process and we went this way. We got an App on the Apple App store and a book on the iBook Store. Now we need capital to grow to the diverse platforms and all we hear from VCs is “education market is too difficult”. Are you aware of specialised fonds that actually are interested in pedagogical aspects of a carefully designed app for learner centric teaching and individualised learning ?

    best regards
    Stefan
